Coastal driving: sand and salt

The City of Joondalup runs along the coast, so plenty of local cars do regular beach runs. Two things tend to follow:

Sand in the cabin: fine beach sand works into carpet fibres, seat rails and boot liners, and wears the surfaces it sits on. A thorough vacuum and brush-out removes most of it. Heavily sanded interiors take extra time and attract an extra charge, so mention it when you book.
Salt film on the outside: coastal air and beach driving leave a dull film on paint and glass. A proper wash removes it, and an underbody detail is worth adding if the car has been driven on or near the sand.

If the car is used for beach trips most weekends, regular maintenance details every 4–6 weeks keep sand from building up between deep cleans.

Paint correction in Joondalup

If your paint looks clean but dull or swirly in the sun, a wash won’t fix it. Machine polishing will. Our paint correction starts from $450 + GST and removes swirl marks, light scratches and haze from the clear coat. It needs cover (a garage, carport or similar) and calm, dry weather, so we’ll check your site before booking. Is mobile detailing as good as taking my car to a workshop?

For washing and interior detailing, the result depends on the detailer, not the location. Workshops have an edge for paint correction because the light and conditions are controlled, which is why we need shade or a garage for that work. The main difference is convenience: with mobile, the car doesn’t go anywhere.

Can paint correction be done on my driveway?

Yes, if there’s cover, such as a garage or carport, and dry, calm weather. Paint correction can’t be done properly in direct sun or wind-blown sand. If your site isn’t suitable, we’ll tell you before booking.
