What a detail can (and can't) fix
It’s better to know this before booking than to be disappointed after:
- Stains: fresh spills and most everyday marks come out with shampoo and extraction. Stains that have set into the fabric or seat foam over months can usually be lightened but may not disappear completely.
- Dog hair and sand: most of it comes out, but hair woven deep into some carpets and boot liners can’t always be removed completely.
- Smells: cleaning removes the source of most everyday odours. Smells coming from the air-conditioning system, or from spills that have soaked into the foam under the seats, may need more than a detail.
- Scratches and swirls: a wash and detail won’t remove them. Light swirls can be polished out with paint correction. Scratches deep enough to catch your fingernail have usually gone through the clear coat and need touch-up or panel repair.
- Ceramic coating: it makes paint glossier and easier to wash, but it isn’t scratch-proof and still needs careful washing.

The starting prices above are for small cars. Your quote depends on:
- Vehicle size: a seven-seat SUV has much more interior to clean than a small hatch.
- Condition: pet hair, sand, mud and long-standing stains add time, and heavily soiled vehicles attract an extra charge.
- Scope: Inside only, or inside and out.
- Add-ons: paint correction, ceramic coating, headlight restoration, engine bay and underbody detailing are quoted separately.
